Hear firsthand accounts of life on the road, the creative process and the symbiotic relationship between music and photography.

Starting at the Leica Store in Sydney, both Maclay and Darren will share their experiences of capturing images and performing as part of Australia’s live music scene - providing insider tips and techniques while lifting the lid on industry secrets garnered from years of photographing the biggest names in music. From intimate portraits to dynamic live shots, discover how to craft compelling images through the lens of your camera.

Workshop participants will be given rare access to photograph the evening concert of Darren Middleton’s Aussie supergroup AUSTRALIAN ROCK COLLECTIVE (ARC) featuring Darren Middleton (Powderfinger), Mark Wilson (Jet), Davey Lane (You Am I) and Kram (Spiderbait) at the State Theatre in Sydney. Participants and Maclay will enjoy a group dinner before heading to the venue to shoot the live performance as ARC perform Led Zeppelin’s 1971 masterpiece album Led Zeppelin IV in full.
