Sunday, April 25 — Night 1 Arrival & Welcome
Participants arrive and check in from 5pm. This evening is an opportunity to meet your fellow photographers, settle in, and begin attuning yourself to the rhythms of Rome.
Group Dinner — Welcome dinner, setting the tone for the days ahead.
Monday, April 26 — Night 2 The Streets of Rome —
Trastevere & Monti
Our first full day in the city takes us into two of Rome's most characterful neighbourhoods. Trastevere's cobbled lanes, ochre walls, and drying laundry offer an intimate portrait of daily Roman life, while Monti, the city's oldest district rewards patient observation with its mix of artisan workshops, street markets, and quiet courtyards. We work on reading light in an urban environment and finding the decisive frame within the flow of street life.
Group Lunch — Together in the neighbourhood.
Group Dinner — Together in Rome.
Tuesday, April 27 — Night 3 Day Trip to Naples
A morning train south brings us to Naples. Raw, layered, and utterly alive, few cities in Europe offer such immediate photographic intensity. The Spanish Quarter's labyrinthine streets, the theatre of the markets at Porta Nolana, the faces and gestures of everyday Neapolitan life: this is a day for immersive documentary street photography, pushing your instincts and learning to work fluidly in a demanding, fast-moving environment.
Group Lunch — Together in Naples.
Group Dinner — Together on return to Rome.
Wednesday, April 28 — Night 4 Historic Rome &
Sunset at Parco degli Acquedotti
We continue our exploration of Rome's historic centre — its ancient laneways, hidden piazzas, and layered architectural detail before making our way in the late afternoon to Parco degli Acquedotti. The ruins of the great Roman aqueducts at golden hour offer a remarkable study in scale, texture, and light, and a powerful reminder of how the ancient and the everyday coexist in this
city.
Group Lunch — Together in Rome.
Group Dinner — Together in Rome.
Thursday, April 29 — Night 5 Abruzzo Mountains —
Exclusive Village Access with Guest Photographer Giuseppe Nucci
We leave the city behind for a full day in the Apennine mountains of Abruzzo. We have been granted exclusive access to a remote mountain village, and will be joined by guest photographer and Leica Akademie Italy instructor Giuseppe Nucci, who will guide us alongside local shepherds and their flocks. This is an extraordinary opportunity to work in a landscape and community largely unchanged by modern life documenting traditional pastoral culture, mountain light, and the faces of people who have lived close to this land for generations.
Group Lunch — Together in Abruzzo.
Group Dinner — Together on return to Rome.
Friday, April 30 — Rome

Saturday, May 1 — Night 6 Travel Day to Venice —
Arrival on San Servolo Island
An early train north carries us from Rome to Venice. On arrival, a private water taxi transfers us across the lagoon to San Servolo, a small island just off the main city, which will serve as our base for the second half of the workshop. Once settled, the afternoon and evening are yours to begin exploring Venice on foot: the bridges, the light on the canals, the city revealing itself slowly, as it always does.
Group Lunch — En route to Venice.
Group Dinner — Together on San Servolo Island.
Sunday, May 2 — Night 7 The Streets of Venice
Venice rewards the photographer who is willing to get lost. Today we immerse ourselves fully in the city's extraordinary urban fabric navigating the calli, crossing the campi, and following light and instinct through neighbourhoods that see few tourists. We work on the particular challenge Venice presents: a place so visually extraordinary that finding a fresh, personal response demands genuine attention and restraint.
Group Lunch — Together in Venice.
Group Dinner — Together in Venice.
Monday, May 3 — Night 8 Burano Island
A morning boat takes us to Burano, the fishing island famous for its intensely coloured houses. The graphic boldness of its architecture, cadmium yellow beside cobalt blue beside vermillion, creates a unique visual environment, and one that asks us to think carefully about how we use colour as a compositional and expressive tool.
Group Lunch — Together on Burano.
Group Dinner — Together in Venice.
Tuesday, May 4 — Night 9 Artisan Shoots
Our final full day of shooting in Venice is led by Leica Akademie Italy, who opens doors that are firmly closed to the general public. Today's exclusive access takes us behind the scenes at a centuries-old gondola workshop, one of the last squeri still operating by traditional methods and into a historic Venetian mask atelier,
where artisans continue a craft that stretches back to the age of Carnival. These are rare privileges, and extraordinary photographic encounters.
Group Lunch — Together in Venice.
Group Dinner — Farewell dinner, a chance to reflect on the journey
from the streets of Rome to the lagoon of Venice, and to celebrate the work made together over these ten days.
Wednesday, May 5 — Workshop conclusion and hotel
