Nick Rains has just returned from the Leica Akademie trip to Rajasthan where our six guests managed to create a superb series of photographs from Jodphur, Chandelao and Osian. They also braved the spectacular Holi Festival and apart from a certain amount of pink-tinged hair, emerged unscathed.
“At no point did it feel rushed or like we were tourists. With an exceptional guide we blended in and were welcomed by the local people in each location. Photographs were taken of the locals, with the locals and by the local people. While the principal purpose of the tour was photography, we were still able to enjoy the experience with the friendliness of the local people and were invited to places where larger groups just wouldn’t get the opportunity.”
