Event Overview

All around us there are recognisable images of the place that we live in, images that we are used to seeing as we pass by, and thus pay little attention to. There are, however, alternative images of these places, maybe smaller and less spectacular than a visitor looks for but there are little hidden gems, more original compositions and ever changing moments that present themselves as the light continuously moves throughout the day.

In this one day course Bill Green will lead you through the streets and buildings of Sydney to photograph the urban environment with a twist; concentrating on shapes, form, texture, reflection, colour and movement.

Starting the day with a tutorial to illustrate the main compositional and camera techniques required for making successful abstractions we will learn how to take advantage of the abstract scenes offered in the Sydney CBD and to start to really see those things that can be so easily missed while taking in the bigger picture.

10.00am : Meet at the seminar room for a briefing and tutorial

11.30am : Head out into the streets to look for inspiration.

1.00pm : Lunch and coffee – included in ticket price

2.00pm – 4.00pm : Continue shooting around Sydney CBD

4.00pm – 6.00pm : Image evaluation and critique back at the seminar room. A laptop or iPad would be useful here. The seminar room is secure so you won’t need to carry these with you all day.
