Product Description

This trip is now fully booked – please click the Join Waitlist button above to be informed if a place becomes available.

Leica Akademie Instructor Nick Rains has been taking small groups to Uluru for many years now, and the most recent two trips worked out so well that we have decided to extend the usual 5-day format to a huge 11-day trip – so we can include other classic parts of the Red Centre too.

The adventure starts and ends in Alice Springs and takes in:

  • Western McDonnell Ranges
  • Glen Helen
  • Kings Canyon
  • Uluru and Kata Tjuta, including helicopter ride
  • Camel Cup at Uluru
  • Full Moon over Rainbow Valley
  • Field of Light special dawn access
  • Uluru special access after hours
  • Sounds of Silence dinner under the stars at Uluru

This is a photographic tour – this means that the itinerary has been set with the priority on getting excellent images. Eating, sleeping and all the other conveniences of life take second place. Just kidding – mostly – but not about the photography. We will be aiming to get you to the right places at the right time with an eye to coming back with an excellent portfolio of images that you can be proud of.

There will be some early starts, there will be a modest amount of walking, it might be hot (averaging high 20s) but we can guarantee a huge amount of fun with good company, great food and some superb photographic opportunities.

Travel will be by air-conditioned 4×4 bus and accommodation will be in the best available rooms – this means the Mercure in Alice Springs, Glen Helen Resort (motel style), Kings Canyon Resort, and Sails in the Desert at Uluru.

Photographic mentoring will be provided by Nick Rains and we have the use of a conference room during the days at Uluru so Nick can assist with post-processing and image critiques.

The price includes all costs with the exception of alcoholic drinks (although wine and beer will be provided with dinners).
