Join Principal Akademie Instructor Nick Rains on a small-group expedition to the wilderness areas of Namibia, staying in excellent hotels and travelling within the country on a privately chartered plane to get to the best spots for photography. This is a fully inclusive trip – all meals, accommodation and transport are included. See our detailed brochure for a day-by-day itinerary and stunning images taken by Nick on location.
Apart from the scenic highlights and the amazing hotel locations, travelling with our own plane adds a special dimension to the trip. Our South African pilots are great company and will often join us for dinner. The biggest plus is the huge saving of time by avoiding 8+ hour drives on dusty outback roads leaving much more time for photography and relaxation. Nick has travelled to these locations twice before and will take you to the best spots so you can maximise your time taking photographs.
Beginning in Windhoek we will meet our pilots and be taken to our private plane. Then it’s a modest 90 minute flight to our first destination, Opuwo Country Club, where we spend two nights. After that we make short hops from Opuwo to Damaraland, then on to Sossusvlei and Luderitz before completing the circuit back to Windhoek where you will connect with your outgoing commercial airlines. There are flight connections from Australia via Johannesburg.
