Due to the popularity of this course we will be offering it twice per year in Sydney and Melbourne, and with limited numbers it fills up quickly!

Adobe Lightroom is the go-to software application for both raw file processing and image cataloguing. It’s a very powerful package but requires the user to climb a modest learning curve if they are to get the most out of it. Used properly, Lightroom will be your best friend, use it half-heartedly and Lightroom can seem to be more trouble than it’s worth.

Leica Akademie Instructor Nick Rains will show you how it’s supposed to be set up and used, and thus convince you that this is a good way to organise and sweeten your images. Nick has been using this software since Version 1.0 was released back in 2007.

This is one of our most popular courses and numbers, as always, are limited. Make sure you book in plenty of time!

Topics Covered:

Catalogue Module: Importing, cataloguing, file systems, metadata editing and archiving. Archiving is one of the most important topics in this workshop – it’s critical to have a robust file storage system and Nick will show you a ‘recipe’ that he uses to make sure his images are both safely archived, and easily accessible.

Develop Module: Image Sweetening and post processing to make your photos look as good as possible. Preparing images for viewing and printing is a critical aspect of modern photography. The camera can take you a long way but all images need polishing before revealing to the world. Nick will demonstrate exactly how he prepared his images for online viewing, print publishing and exhibitions.

Other cool stuff: exporting, image resizing, printing and more.

Extensive notes will be provided too.
