Leica rangefinder cameras and documentary photography go hand in hand, indeed many of the most famous reportage images were shot on Leica cameras. However, that does not mean to say that high quality documentary and travel images cannot be shot on just about any camera – it’s more about your mind set and your ability to be in the right place at the right time.
Documentary photographer and Akademie Instructor Nick Rains presents a workshop on how to approach documentary work concentrating more on the realities of working in the field than on specific cameras or lenses. It’s all about getting the photo – as Arthur Fellig (Weegee) once said “f8 and be there”.
