Craig Semetko – Sydney

Event Overview

Leica Akademie Australia is pleased to announce a workshop with US photographer and Leica Legend, Craig Semetko.

Is it ever too late to become a serious photographer? What is the recipe for a great photograph? This two-day workshop begins with Craig giving a presentation covering his own inspiring photographic journey and his “Photographer’s DIET”— the four elements every photographer needs to remember to create great images.

With vivid examples demonstrating the importance of the DIET elements (Design, Information, Emotion and Timing), attendees will learn and apply the recipe to improve their photography.

Through a mix of interactive presentations and out in the streets shooting, this workshop will give participants a chance to hear the stories and thought processes behind Craig’s photographs, and a chance to work with him intimately in the field. The emphasis will be on experimenting with new ways of seeing and trying different techniques for street shooting.

There will be no pressure to produce a masterpiece — but Participants are expected to push themselves out of their comfort zones to create an impressive body of photographs.

  1. Knowledge of photography fundamentals
  2. Familiar with the mechanics of own cameras
  3. Knowledge of how to edit and upload photos with software
  4. Laptop with photo editing software installed

You can see more of Craig’s work here.
